Job summary

RxSight is seeking a Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry to lead chemical characterization of the Light Adjustable Lens and other ophthalmic devices. This laboratory-based role emphasizes developing methods, generating robust data, and collaborating with R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs.

You will interpret results, train staff, author analytical and regulatory documents, and ensure ISO 11979/ISO 10993 compliance. A PhD in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or Materials Science with analytical training.
• 3+ years of industrial analytical chemistry experience in medical devices or regulated environments.
• Experience applying methods to polymeric/biomaterial systems (silicones, acrylics, hydrogels).
• Experience with extractables/leachables, hydrolytic/photostability studies, and method validation.
• Exposure to FDA-regulated product development and ISO expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, transfer, and support analytical methods for product development and regulatory submissions.
• Perform analytical testing using GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis.
• Lead chemical characterization of materials and finished devices, including extractables/leachables.
• Interpret data, write technical reports, and present to cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with R&D, QC, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs.
• Support root-cause investigations and regulatory documentation.
