Job summary

Standard Bots seeks a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the Bolt mobile manipulation base hardware, combining mechanical and electrical architecture from concept to safety-certified production. You will own the power system, battery pack, BMS, charger, and high-current distribution, guiding a team through prototype builds and certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years designing, building, and testing power systems and PCBA hardware.
• Experience leading hardware for AMR/mobile robots through production and safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead Bolt hardware team: define electrical/ mechanical architectures and prototype/tests.
• Own AMR safety certification: ISO 3691-4, ANSI/RIA R15.08, UL 3100 evidence and tests.
• Specify and integrate battery pack, BMS, charger; manage vendor evaluation.
• Drive architecture decisions: pack capacity, drive configuration, thermal management.
• Hands-on schematic capture, high-current PCB layout, bench bring-up, debugging.
• Ensure safety/certification paths (ISO/IEC) and document test results.
• Hire and mentor hardware team; liaison with vendors across battery/drive/PCBA.
