Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. in Grand Junction, CO is seeking a Gulfstream Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. You will lead a team of technicians to deliver high-quality maintenance work and ensure timely completion in a busy hangar.

The role requires 8+ years in aviation maintenance and 4+ years on program-specific airframes, plus an A&P license. Expect a fast-paced environment with FAA compliance and strong leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• A valid driver’s license ideal but not mandatory.
• Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• Minimal supervision and ability to lead small groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks with good judgment on day-to-day tasks.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Reduce turn time of aircraft within your area of responsibility.
• Train/mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload.
• Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects; schedule and quality are essential.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft when designated.
• Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components when designated.
• Coordinate projects and communicate effectively in English.
