West Star Aviation in Grand Junction, Colorado, is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to lead a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality, timely results and strong problem-solving. The role emphasizes supervision, training, and coordination with customers on project management and pricing.

You will perform mechanical work on aircraft, supervise multiple projects, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to work daily and be flexible with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks with good judgment and oversight.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Look for opportunities to reduce turn time of aircraft.
• Help train/mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload.
• Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects with emphasis on schedule and quality.
• Perform mechanical tasks on aircraft including removal/installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.

Skills

8+ years aviation maintenance

4+ years program specific airframes

Education
