Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. in Statesville, NC, is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to guide a team of technicians in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services.

The role focuses on timely, accurate workmanship and strong hands-on leadership in a hangar environment. You will oversee multiple projects, coordinate task flow, perform mechanical work on aircraft and related systems, and ensure compliance with FAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• A valid driver’s license ideal; passport is nice but not mandatory.
• Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• This position requires minimal supervision and will lead small groups in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks with good judgement and escalation to management when needed.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Look for opportunities to reduce turn time of aircraft within your area of responsibility.
• Help train/mentor technicians assigned to your projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure schedule adherence and quality.
