Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. in Statesville, NC is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to guide a team of technicians on weekend night shifts. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance skills, and a focus on quality and safety.

You will supervise, train, and coordinate with customers while delivering top-tier aircraft maintenance services. The position demands 8+ years in aviation maintenance, an A&P license, and the ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred; 4+ years on program-specific airframes.
• Minimal supervision with ability to lead small teams and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs with good judgment and initiative.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time.
• Train and mentor technicians on projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and safety compliance.
• Work independently on projects and lead multiple assignments.
• Perform general mechanical work on aircraft and systems.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and inspect aircraft components.
• Coordinate with customer on project management and pricing.
• Communicate clearly in English in all duties.
