West Star Aviation Inc. in East Alton, IL is seeking an Embraer Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to lead a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality work and timely delivery on complex aircraft programs.

The role requires an A&P license, 8+ years in aviation maintenance, and strong leadership and communication skills. You will supervise multiple projects, perform structural and systems tasks, and uphold FAA guidelines in a fast-paced hangar environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and an Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• Supervisory experience and ability to coordinate multiple projects.

Responsabilités

• Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks, using sound judgment and involving management when needed.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time within your area of responsibility.
• Train/mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure schedule and work quality.
• Perform general mechanical on aircraft and related systems (removal/installation of panels and components, repairs).
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft.
• Inspect aircraft and components as designated.
• Coordinate aircraft movement and testing when required.
• Maintain shop facilities and tooling to support operations.
• Interact with customers in project management and pricing.
