Job summary

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) invites applications for an Environmental Protection Supervising Air Pollution Control Engineer in the Mobile Source Group. The role oversees staff, develops project plans for mobile source control programs, and administers grant programs for on-road and non-road sources.

Strong leadership and policy analysis are essential. Responsibilities include performance evaluations, testimony at hearings, and technical liaison work

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of experience as an engineer or scientist in an air pollution control program.
  • Three (3) years of experience directly related to air pollution control.
  • Experience leading staff and managing priorities in a public sector setting.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign, oversee, and review staff work; develop plans and evaluate performance.
  • Develop project plans to implement mobile source programs and grant initiatives.
  • Assess air quality impacts of mobile source regulations and analyze related policies.
  • Testify at hearings and participate in technical committees and interagency groups.
  • Prepare reports, reviews, and technical publications; supervise data and model work.
  • Oversee testing, monitoring equipment, and quality assurance for air pollution programs.
