Job summary

The State of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) seeks a Supervising Environmental Analyst to lead the Compliance Analysis and Coordination Unit in the Enforcement Division of the Bureau of Air Management. The role focuses on supervising staff, directing programmatic work, and ensuring timely, high-quality environmental analyses.

Responsibilities include developing strategic initiatives, coordinating with management, and overseeing budgets and enforcement

Qualifications

  • Eight years of experience involving technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data or planning and implementing environmental programs.
  • One year of General Experience at advanced working/lead level capacity is required.
  • Substitutions: bachelor’s degree substitutes 4 years; master’s degree substitutes 5 years; education may substitute up to five years.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a section engaged in development and implementation of environmental plans and programs.
  • Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews work of staff.
  • Provides staff training and assistance; conducts performance evaluations.
  • Determines priorities and plans office work; establishes and maintains procedures.
  • Develops policies and standards; liaises with other units and outside officials.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence; oversees environmental impact statements.
  • Directs budgets and manages projects; coordinates special planning studies.
  • Represents the agency at hearings and conferences; may prepare enforcement actions.
