Job summary

Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) seeks an Environmental Protection Supervising Air Pollution Control Engineer in the Mobile Source Group to lead staff, shape mobile source programs, and advance emission reduction initiatives.

You will supervise engineering reviews, craft project and grant plans, testify at hearings, and collaborate with state and federal partners to improve air quality.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience as an engineer or scientist in an air pollution control program.
• Three years of experience directly related to air pollution control.
• Fifteen semester hours per half-year substituting for experience to a maximum of four years for a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Schedules, assigns, oversees, and reviews staff.
• Develops or makes recommendations on policies and standards.
• Supervises complex engineering reviews and analysis of plans and specifications.
• Plans and supervises QA programs for air pollution and related instruments and data.
• Represents the Air Compliance Unit at meetings.
