Job summary

The Lead Engineer, AI & Process Automation at 1P284 THE CARLYLE GROUP EMPLOYEE CO., LLC sits within Carlyle’s Corporate Services Technology organization, embedding with Finance, Tax, HR, Legal & Compliance, and Marketing to deliver AI-powered workflows. You’ll own end-to-end delivery of agentic systems and copilots, building AI-native solutions and driving adoption across the enterprise.

You will mentor engineers, shape the technical strategy, and ensure production-grade reliability using Claude

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience; 3+ years building and shipping production AI apps with LLMs, agents, or copilots.
• Fluency with modern AI coding agents and DevOps stack (version control, CI/CD, testing, containerization, cloud).
• Experience leading engineers, and working with business users in regulated environments.
• Financial services experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Embed with business stakeholders to identify and ship AI products end to end.
• Define technical strategy, roadmaps, and guardrails for AI initiatives across Corporate Services.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI-forward engineers and uphold code quality and reliability.
• Represent CS Technology in the Engineering Community of Practice and share reusable patterns.
