Job summary

Carlyle in Washington, DC seeks a Lead Engineer, AI & Process Automation to own end-to-end AI delivery across Finance, Tax, HR, Legal & Compliance, and Marketing. You will embed with business units, build AI-native applications, and define reusable blocks and patterns.

You will lead a team of AI-forward engineers, raising the technical bar, and partner with infrastructure, data, and security to deploy production systems at enterprise scale. In-office 4 days a week.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
• 3+ years building production AI applications (LLM powered, agentic workflows, copilots).
• Fluency with Claude Code, Cursor, and the surrounding DevOps stack.
• Experience with data across structured and unstructured sources; document intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end AI product delivery across Corporate Services.
• Embed with business stakeholders to scope and ship AI products.
• Define standards, guardrails, and reusable building blocks.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow the team.
