The Data & AI Engineer at 1P284 THE CARLYLE GROUP EMPLOYEE CO., LLC sits within Carlyle’s Enterprise Technology & Data organization and builds production data pipelines, semantic layers, and AI-ready data products powering analytics, automation, LLMs, agents, and Copilots across the firm.

This senior individual-contributor role reports to the Senior AI & Data Architect and emphasizes hands-on Python/SQL, ELT/streaming pipelines, retrieval systems, and governance-aware data quality and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Hands-on experience building generative AI or AI/ML systems in production.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Proficiency with modern data stacks (dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake).
• Experience crafting retrieval, grounding, and semantic components for LLM/agent apps.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate AI-ready data pipelines (embedding, indexing, and retrieval).
• Design and maintain production ELT, streaming, and transformation pipelines.
• Develop semantic models and data contracts for self-service analytics and AI grounding.
• Implement data quality, observability, and governance across data and AI workloads.
