Job summary

CyberCoders in San Jose, CA seeks a senior hardware engineer to lead development of embedded computing systems from concept to production. You will own architecture decisions, write specs, develop validation plans, and guide cross-functional reviews with firmware, software, and program teams.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of hands-on hardware experience, strong PCB design with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, and deep knowledge of PCIe, DDR4/5, USB, I2C/ SPI/UART; lab skills are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience, from concept to mass production.
• Proven PCB design with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro and SI analysis.
• Deep knowledge of PCIe, DDR4/5, USB, Display, and I2C/SMBus/SPI/UART.
• Experience with x86 and/or ARM server architecture and subsystems.
• Hands-on lab proficiency with oscilloscopes and analyzers.
• Nice to have: firmware/UEFI, embedded Linux, Python/Bash scripts, EMC testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware development from concept to production on embedded computing systems.
• Own architecture decisions and align across SI, Mechanical, and Firmware teams.
• Write hardware specs and develop comprehensive validation plans.
• Review schematics in Cadence OrCAD and guide PCB layout for first-pass success.
• Execute board bring-up and diagnose signal integrity, power, and firmware interactions.
• Drive hardware builds and component procurement with supply chain partners.
• Act as technical point of contact in cross-functional reviews.
