Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive production-ready AI, ML, and data science capabilities across enterprise and government programs. You will design, build, test, deploy, and refine production algorithms, acting as a hands-on leader and technical translator across teams.

You will mentor staff, craft scalable AI solutions, and evaluate new technologies for real-world value while collaborating with cloud and software engineers to deliver mission outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 7+ years of professional experience; 10+ years for job-specific minimums.
• 7+ years building advanced algorithms and data science solutions; production experience on real data.
• 7+ years data science or advanced algorithm experience.
• 5+ years cloud design or building solutions.
• 3+ years AI/ML experience.
• Experience deploying production algorithms beyond notebooks.
• Experience integrating AI/ML into software systems.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve production AI solutions.
• Own complex problems from exploration through production deployment and ongoing improvement.
• Write high-quality software and contribute to enterprise capabilities.
• Build AI-enabled apps that integrate models, data, cloud services, APIs, and existing systems.
