Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive data science and algorithms across the enterprise and government programs, with hands-on responsibilities for building, testing, deploying, and improving AI capabilities. This is a remote role focusing on scalable, production-ready algorithms and collaboration with engineers and specialists.

The position emphasizes leadership in applied AI, architecture of AI playbooks, and mentoring staff, with a strong emphasis on producing real mission outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 10+ years of experience preferred.
• Experience building and supporting production algorithms on real data.
• 7+ years in data science or advanced algorithm development.
• 5+ years designing/building cloud-based solutions.
• 3+ years of AI/ML or related tech.
• Experience deploying algorithms outside notebook environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and productionization of AI/ML solutions.
• Own complex technical problems from exploration to deployment and improvement.
• Write high-quality software for enterprise capabilities.
• Build AI-enabled applications integrating models with data and cloud services.
• Mentor staff and share algorithmic best practices.
