Job summary

Capital One is seeking a senior AI/ML leader to partner with engineers, researchers, and PMs to deliver AI-powered products.

You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, and governance. The role emphasizes optimization, scalability, and observability across cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 6+ years of experience.
At least 6 years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Preferred: 7+ years deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Preferred experience designing, developing, integrating and supporting complex AI systems.
Preferred ability to lead and mentor an engineering team.

Preferred experience optimizing training and inference software.
Preferred passion for staying abreast of AI research and systems.

Responsibilities

Invent state-of-the-art optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput.
Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.
