Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace seeks a Lead AI Engineer to provide expert technical leadership in designing and developing AI algorithms, models, and systems for autonomous aerial platforms, including computer vision, navigation, and obstacle detection.

You will craft multi-year research plans, secure government and internal funding, and lead a global team of scientists and engineers while mentoring AI engineers and driving transitions of AI/CV tech to UAV/UAM hardware and software deployments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in robotics, aerospace engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years developing AI or computer vision for autonomy and aerospace applications.
• Track record of winning government contracts (> $500k) with DARPA, ARL, or similar.
• Strong R&D leadership for AI and computer vision in aerospace.
• Ability to lead direct and indirect reports by influence.
