Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace US LLC is seeking a Lead AI Engineer in Plymouth, MN on a hybrid schedule to lead development of AI, CV and autonomy technologies for aerial platforms. You will guide research plans, oversee government and internal funding pursuits, and drive technology transitions with a global team of scientists and engineers.

The role requires strong leadership, a track record in AI/vision for aerospace, and hands-on delivery of advanced CV/AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or PhD in a technical discipline (robotics, aerospace engineering, or related field).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience developing AI or computer vision algorithms for autonomy and aerospace applications.
• History of proposing and winning contracts with government agencies (e.g., DARPA/ARL) > $500k.
• Expertise in computer vision and AI for aerospace applications.
• Experience leading complex R&D programs for internal and external customers.
• Ability to lead direct and indirect reports by influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex AI solutions addressing business needs with scalability and robustness.
• Drive AI, computer vision and autonomy strategy development.
• Define and lead research into new techniques for AI across aerospace applications.
• Drive transitions and productization of AI/vision teleology onto UAV/UAM platforms.
• Provide mentorship to AI engineers and foster learning and innovation.
