Humana Inc in the United States is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to own the design and delivery of AI-powered capabilities across the NBA platform. This hands-on role requires you to write production AI code while leading a small team of engineers and contractors focused on intelligent analysis and automation in user-facing experiences.

You will architect multi-step agentic pipelines, integrate Claude, GPT, and other APIs, and ensure reliable, auditable AI in a regulated healthcare context.

Formación

• 6+ years of software or ML engineering experience, with 1-2 years in LLM integration or AI product engineering.
• Hands-on experience building production agentic systems, multi-step pipelines, and tool orchestration.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation patterns and vector search in production.
• Strong Python engineering skills for production AI systems, not just prototypes.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or equivalents) into real applications.
• Ability to lead a small team or pod and manage contractor resources.
• Good judgment on when AI is the right tool in a regulated, member-facing context.
• Clear communicator who can explain architectures to engineers and product owners.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and own AI agent workflows that surface intelligent analysis and automation across the NBA platform.
• Hands-on development—write and ship production code alongside the team; not a supervisory role.
• Architect multi-step agentic pipelines that integrate with data, decisioning outputs, and activation channels.
• Own the integration of large language models (Claude, GPT, or equivalents) into workflows, including prompt engineering and context management.
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams to bring AI-powered analysis into operator-facing interfaces.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure AI output quality and ensure reliability and safety in healthcare.
• Manage AI engineering contractors within your pod; set expectations and maintain quality standards.
