Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to own the design and delivery of the NBA platform's agentic AI capabilities.

This hands-on role requires you to write production code while leading a small team of engineers and contractors to deliver AI-powered workflows across the platform's interfaces. You will integrate LLMs (Claude, GPT) into workflows, design multi-step pipelines, and ensure reliable, auditable outputs in a regulated healthcare environment.

Competenze

• 6+ years of software or ML engineering with 1-2 years focused on LLM integration, agentic AI, or AI product engineering
• Hands-on experience building production agentic systems: multi-step pipelines, tool orchestration, structured output handling, multi-turn conversations
• Experience with RAG patterns and vector search in production
• Strong Python engineering skills for production AI systems
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or equivalents) into real applications
• Proven ability to lead a small team or pod and manage contractor resources
• Strong judgment on when AI is appropriate in a regulated, member-facing context
• Clear communicator capable of explaining agentic architecture to engineers and product owners
• Deep fluency with AI productivity tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar)
