Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Lead Software Engineer to build autonomous agent capabilities that plan, execute, validate, and submit code changes at scale within the Commercial & Investment Bank Digital Channel.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in a corporate environment using Java, Python, Shell, SQL.
• Experience contributing to a CI/CD, DevOps, or release-engineering platform with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines, Argo CD, or similar.
• Strong hands-on Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, API development, Python, and Shell scripting for automation services and tooling.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, or documentation with demonstrated evaluation of AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of inputs/outputs and audit evidence capture.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Kubernetes-based deployment, Docker, Helm, secret management, and enterprise deployment controls.
• Familiarity with observability and reliability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Working understanding of Git internals, branching, PR workflows, signed commits, and large-scale change orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate AI-driven remediation workflows into enterprise CI/CD pipelines, including trigger design and deployment readiness checks.
• Build and operate the evaluation harness that proves agent quality and delivery readiness at scale, with metrics like success rate and drift detection.
• Implement the PR-provenance contract end-to-end, including signed commits, audit-trail emission, and rollback handling.
• Own subsystems within the harness, such as evaluation fixtures, regression corpora, and day-to-day operational support.
• Co-own the harness's reliability and observability with metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerting for scalable diagnosability.
• Contribute to agent-skill design reviews and elevate audit-control questions to senior leadership.
• Support Standards and Tooling pillars by rolling out lint rules, template upgrades, and migration checks into CI/CD.
• Instrument value and adoption metrics for evaluation subsystems, including repositories evaluated and pipeline pass rates.
• Drive adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices while enforcing secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
