NXP Semiconductors NV in the United States is seeking an AI Compiler Engineer who thrives at the convergence of AI, compiler tech, and hardware design. You’ll architect and scale a production‑class AI compiler toolchain to map neural networks onto NXP’s SoCs, and work with AI agents to enable adaptive compilers.

You’ll push graph transformations, integration with PyTorch/TF/ONNX, and AI‑guided optimizations across CPUs and accelerators, delivering fast, energy‑efficient results for embedded AI

Qualifications

• MS/PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, EE, or related field.
• Deep experience building AI compilers, accelerator backends, or graph optimization frameworks.
• Strong expertise in graph optimization and performance optimization for NPUs or custom accelerators.
• Experience with MLIR, LLVM, TVM-like systems, or proprietary compiler IRs.
• Excellent C/C++ and Python skills.
• Solid understanding of AI inference workloads (CNNs, transformers, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and agile development experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and evolution of an AI compiler toolchain that leverages AI agents to map neural networks onto NXP’s SoC platforms.
• Pioneer graph transformations, lowering, scheduling, and codegen strategies for CPUs and accelerators, driven by AI-powered analytics.
• Build deep integrations with leading AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX) and AI agents for rapid model onboarding.
• Advance quantization, operator fusion, memory planning, and layout transformations with AI-guided design.
• Collaborate with hardware and software architects to co-design compiler and accelerator features for silicon/code alignment.
• Diagnose and reduce performance bottlenecks with AI-enabled profiling and diagnostics.
• Enhance validation, benchmarking, and regression pipelines with AI agents to ensure robust releases.
• Improve developer experience with better usability, diagnostics, and documentation, aided by AI copilots.
