Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Lead Engineer I to join our Ignition Tax Product Team in a hybrid work environment. The role involves translating business needs into AI-powered features and APIs, and building scalable microservices for model inference on Azure or similar platforms.

You will develop client-facing web apps with Angular + TypeScript and Python or .NET, integrate LLMs, deploy with Azure DevOps, and mentor junior engineers while upholding KPMG's standards of integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of software development and systems architecture experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field required; Master's preferred.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, and authentication/authorization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and data scientists to translate business needs into AI-powered features and APIs.
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices for model inference on Azure or similar cloud.
• Build client-facing web apps using Angular + TypeScript with Python or .NET backend services and secure SQL databases.
• Leverage Azure services for deployment, scaling and monitoring.
• Integrate large language models and AI services into front-end and back-end systems.
• Maintain professional, respectful work environment and mentor junior engineers.
