Job summary

KPMG LLP in Montvale, NJ is seeking a Lead Engineer I to join our Tax Ignition Team. This hybrid role combines hands-on software development with systems architecture to deliver AI-powered features and robust APIs.

You will architect and maintain microservices, build client-facing apps in Angular and Python/.NET, and deploy on Azure. The role requires curiosity about Generative AI and a proactive approach to learning.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of software development and systems architecture experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering or related field preferred; Master's desired.
• Solid understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and authentication/authorization.
• Experience building enterprise systems using Python, .NET, C#, Angular, SQL and Azure preferred.
• Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into AI-powered features and APIs.
• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices for model inference.
• Build client-facing web apps in Angular + TypeScript and Python or .NET.
• Leverage Azure services for deployment, scaling and monitoring.
• Integrate LLMs and AI services into front-end and back-end systems.
• Demonstrate curiosity in Generative AI through self-learning and projects.
