Job summary

Skanska USA Building is seeking a Lead AI Application/Software Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support lightweight applications for business use cases where standard tools don’t fit. You will translate complex needs into scoped, shippable solutions, using AI-assisted development with strong emphasis on security, testing, and maintainability.

You’ll collaborate with IT architecture, information security, and stakeholders, making build-versus-buy decisions and defining deployment paths

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development, including end-to-end ownership.
• 7+ years of experience with at least one modern stack (Python/TypeScript).
• 5+ years of experience with data modeling and application security fundamentals.
• 3+ years of experience using Azure PaaS.
• 2+ years of hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Github, Copilot, Codex, Cursor).
• 2+ years of experience reviewing and testing AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
