Job summary

COREcruitment partners with a Washington, DC-based, high-end restaurant to recruit an Assistant General Manager. This role is hands-on and focused on delivering exceptional hospitality, with a strong wine and beverage emphasis.

The successful candidate will support the General Manager, lead floor service, drive beverage standards and guest engagement, and mentor team members while overseeing staffing and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Previous AGM, Restaurant Manager, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Experience in a high-end, fine dining, or luxury restaurant.
• Strong wine and beverage experience is required.
• Deep understanding of wine service, cocktails, beverage programs, and elevated hospitality.
• Proven ability to train and develop teams.
• Polished, personable, and confident on the floor.
• Strong operational and financial understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in leading all day-to-day restaurant operations.
• Lead the wine and beverage program and beverage standards.
• Drive beverage sales, training, and guest engagement.
• Lead service from the floor and ensure hospitality at every touchpoint.
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
• Build relationships with guests and cultivate a strong regular clientele.
• Support financial performance, labour management, and op standards.
