Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Lead Agentic AI Engineer to design, enhance, and support the technical direction of our AI-enabled offensive security organization. You will architect production agentic AI platforms to accelerate cybersecurity triage, investigation, detection, and response workflows.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in at least three areas, with Agentic Systems & Harness Engineering required.
• Experience with cybersecurity automation, security operations, offensive security, adversary simulation, or related frameworks.
• 10+ years in software, platform, distributed-systems, or AI engineering with leadership on production systems.
• Proven ability to architect/operate production LLM-powered or agentic systems across full lifecycle.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, scalability, concurrency, and fault tolerance.
• Hands-on experience with agent orchestration, planning, tool calling, memory, and long-running workflows using LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or equivalent.
• Experience with foundation-model APIs and open-weight/self-hosted models, structured generation, and function calling.
• Strong Python/backend skills: REST/gRPC, messaging, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud infra.
• Practical experience with agent evaluation, trajectory/regression testing, AI security, and production reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own reference architecture and engineering standards for production agentic AI systems.
• Design reusable agent execution harnesses separating AI reasoning from deterministic execution.
• Lead multi-agent workflows, memory, tool calls, and long-running processes.
• Define model-agnostic interfaces for various models including routing and workload-based selection.
• Architect retrieval, context, and memory services using RAG, hybrid search, vector DBs.
• Establish MCP servers, A2A protocols, APIs, tool registries, and enterprise integrations.
• Define security practices: least privilege, sandboxing, secrets management, guardrails, auditability.
• Lead cross-functional architecture decisions and mentor engineers.
