Job summary

Springfield School District 186 is seeking a Lead Child Development Associate for Project SCOPE in Springfield, IL. The role supports school-age children with a warm, engaging approach and works in a split shift from 7:00–10:30 and 2:30–6:00, 204 days/year. Starting date is immediate and the salary is $20.94 per hour.

The position requires at least 60 college credits, CPR/First Aid certification (provided by the program), and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Citizenship/residency is required.

Qualifications

  • Must have 60 college credits in child care, teaching or related area.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (Project SCOPE provides class).
  • Willingness to fulfill program goals and duties as assigned.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Collect fees from parents and maintain bookkeeping records.
  • Assist in overseeing the Project SCOPE program in an elementary school with the principal.
  • Meet the needs of individual children with dignity and respect.
  • Establish positive liaison with parents and children.
  • Share housekeeping responsibilities with staff.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in training programs.
  • Support school's rules and staff members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Coordinator.
