Young World Physical Education is seeking a Child Development Assistant for a location to be determined in Springfield, IL. The role supports the Project SCOPE program in an elementary school with a 5-hour workday and 203 days per year, including 13 paid holidays.

Starting immediately, full-time consideration noted but part-time possible if needed. Responsibilities include fee collection, program oversight, and fostering positive relations with children and parents.

Qualifications

• Candidates should show genuine interest in school-age children.
• Candidate should relate well with children and adults in a warm, positive manner.
• Willingness to fulfill program goals and objectives.
• Preferred degree in child care, teaching or related area.

Responsibilities

• Collect fees from parents and maintain bookkeeping records.
• Assist in overseeing the Project SCOPE program in an elementary school.
• Meet the needs of the individual child with dignity and respect.
• Establish positive liaison with parents and children.
• Share housekeeping responsibilities with staff.
• Attend staff meetings and training programs.
• Support school rules and staff members.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the Coordinator.
