Job summary

Jamco Interiors is seeking a Seats Design Engineer Lead to drive the mechanical seat design across production, retrofit, and development projects in Everett, WA. You will lead a design team and ensure compliance with established standards and customer requirements.

The role emphasizes ownership of detailed seat packages, collaboration with manufacturing, and rigorous design validation using CATIA V5 or SolidWorks. Travel may be required as part of program support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years in aerospace.
• Experience using CATIA V5/SolidWorks for detailed seat designs.
• Ability to lead a design team (up to 6 engineers) and collaborate with multiple departments.
• Familiarity with Boeing/Aircraft seat design standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical seat packages for production and retrofit.
• Perform design checks and sign documentation with supervision.
• Review and approve design implementations and drawings.
• Interpret OEM airplane seat install/layout drawings using approved processes and tools.
• Provide liaison support for manufacturing and in-service issues.
• Troubleshoot mechanical seat systems and drive field improvements.
• Coordinate with other departments and comply with customer/regulatory standards.
