Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead Project Engineer – New Product Development in California. The role focuses on mechanical design of hydraulic and motion-control components, collaborating with global teams to deliver production-ready designs.

Remote flexibility is limited and on-site work is required at LA/Torrance/Irvine locations. The candidate will lead design reviews, develop CAD models, and apply GD&T while guiding project schedules and budgets across IPTs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years in Mechanical and Project Engineering for manufacturing product design.
• Experience with 3D CAD software and design for manufacturing.
• ITAR compliance and ability to work from within 50 miles of Los Angeles, Irvine, or Torrance.
• Ability to lead cross-functional IPTs and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development.
• Lead design and improvements across all phases of the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with IPTs to solve design, inspection, manufacturing, and test issues.
• Plan, organize, and lead multiple projects with schedules and budgets.
• Create engineering documents, standards, and design reviews for customers.
