Job summary

Aries Aero Systems in Savannah, GA is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to guide a structures operations team in large-cabin business jet production. You will lead analyses, plan improvements, and solve problems across layout, flow, tooling, and assembly methods.

You will write work instructions, MBOM maintenance in SAP/Solumina/Corridor, and drive Lean and Six Sigma improvements while mentoring engineers and coordinating cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years in manufacturing engineering, planning, or related field
• Lean and/or Six Sigma principles with hands-on 5S, JIT, SMED, Kanban, VSM, and one-piece flow
• Experience with CATIA, CADAM, Solumina, SAP, and Corridor

Responsibilities

• Run complex technical studies and analyze existing and proposed operations; recommend equipment, methods, and sequences for complex assemblies and components
• Write detailed work instructions with Operations Engineering to improve efficiency and reduce defects
• Write DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support effective corrective action
• Write and maintain the MBOM in SAP, Solumina, and Corridor so engineering-defined parts get installed
• Conduct producibility studies from engineering drawings
• Prepare make-or-buy proposals, evaluate vendors, support vendor negotiations, and resolve supplier issues
• Prepare justifications for equipment and facility requests
• Use statistics to forecast manufacturing requirements and produce data/reports
• Prioritize workloads and provide work estimates and completion dates
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma; build business cases for process improvements and present to management
• Lead and coordinate projects across multiple organizations
• Assign, review, and train the work of other team members; step in for ME Group Head when needed
• Support safety, sustainability, ergonomic, and quality initiatives
