Job summary

AeroVironment seeks an experienced Manufacturing Systems Engineering/Program Lead to provide technical leadership across programs. You willown value-stream analysis, capacity modeling, EVMS/CAM activities, and capacity expansion initiatives to improve throughput, cost, and schedule performance.

The role requires strong ownership, analytical ability, and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, and program management teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing/industrial engineering, preferably in moderate- to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with mechanical manufacturing, PCB/CCA assembly, or complex electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Experience with capacity analysis, modeling, planning, value-stream mapping, and factory performance analysis.
  • Experience with EVMS, program planning, cost/schedule performance management, and CAM responsibilities.
  • Experience developing manufacturing metrics, dashboards, production forecasts, and capacity expansion solutions.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for manufacturing engineering systems and capacity initiatives across programs.
  • Develop value-stream and capacity models to evaluate flow, throughput, bottlenecks, and performance.
  • Lead capacity expansion and factory planning, including equipment, facilities, staffing, and process capability.
  • Support EVMS, IMS, budgets, and cost/schedule integration with PM and CAMs.
  • Provide CAM support including control account planning and performance reporting.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and develop recommendations to improve throughput, capacity, cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, program management, operations, and leadership to resolve constraints.
  • Develop manufacturing strategies and implementation plans for ramp-up and expansion.
  • Maintain manufacturing metrics, dashboards, and data-driven decision indicators.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and other improvement initiatives.
  • Present performance and investment recommendations to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
