Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Lead Advanced Quality Engineer to direct quality activities for new launches at our Walker, MI facility. You will drive APQP/PPAP, coordinate with Quality and Engineering, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring customer requirements are met.

The role emphasizes FMEAs, GD&T, fixture/gage reviews, and robust documentation, enabling successful launches and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• 5 Years in related experience and/or training; 10–15 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality-related launch activities and communicate with internal/external customers.
• Prepare APQP and PPAP documentation for product launches.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to verify customer requirements.
• Coordinate supplier communications to meet Challenge/customer requirements.
• Attend program team meetings and mentor other Advanced Quality Engineers.
• Ensure timely completion of FMEAs to influence tooling designs.
• Assist supplier PPAP reviews and supplier selection activities.
• Develop and review Control Plans and GD&T tolerances.
• Support fixture and gage requirements and reviews.
• Lead training and knowledge transfer within the team.
• Own document storage for launch-phase artifacts.
