Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking an Advanced Quality Engineer to partner with Program Managers and Launch teams to ensure APQP, PPAP and customer requirements are met for successful production starts at our Walker, MI facility.

You will drive control plans, FMEAs, and dimensional tolerance analyses, coordinating with Quality, Engineering and suppliers to align on quality standards and prevent issues across programs.

Qualifications

• B.S degree from an accredited college or university.
• 5+ years related experience and/or training.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to interpret specific customer requirements.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG.
• Strong knowledge in APQP.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP requirements.
• Ability to analyze and understand dimensional data in varying formats.
• Knowledge of and experience using problem solving and core tools.
• Strong communication skills.
• Plexus experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles quality launch activities and voices customer needs.
• Prepares APQP and PPAP documentation for launches.
• Verifies customer requirements with Quality and Engineering.
• Coordinates with suppliers to meet requirements.
• Attends program team meetings.
• Obtains product knowledge as needed.
• Ensures FMEAs are completed on time.
• Develops Control Plans.
• Evaluates dimensional tolerancing and specs.
• Evaluates fixture and gage requirements.
• Participates in fixture/gage reviews and buy-off.
• Attends die and weld tool runoffs to confirm part quality.
• Supports Safe Launch in early launch stages.
• Facilitates communication between suppliers and customers.
• Owns document storage during launch.
