Job summary

BELFOR Environmental is seeking an experienced lead carpenter to support large-scale reconstruction projects in Portland, Oregon. You will supervise crews, train entry and mid-level carpenters, and serve as a key resource on the job site while upholding BELFOR standards.

The role involves performing complex carpentry tasks, coordinating safety, and traveling as needed to meet project timelines; nights and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Supervision of unskilled labor and BELFOR employees on residential, commercial, multi-family, industrial and institutional projects.
• Answer simple questions about the project and defer complex questions to qualified personnel.
• Maintain equipment used in daily tasks and ensure site safety.

Responsibilities

• Recognize potential problems with the project and request guidance as needed.
• Train Carpenter Basic and Carpenter Intermediate team members in job tasks.
• Answer questions or direct to the appropriate resource on the project.
• Construct containment for construction dust, dirt, and contaminants.
• Build Metal Framed Walls, Acoustical Ceilings, and repair/replace roofing as required.
• Use tools and BELFOR methods for flood cutting, salvaging and labeling baseboards and cabinets.
• Identify insulation types, thicknesses, and their R-values.
• Apply skills to trim, doors, cabinetry, insulation, framing, ceilings, roofing and siding.
• Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections.
• Maintain attention to detail and safeguard property.
• Meet BELFOR standards in customer service and project timelines.
• Be prepared to work nights and weekends and travel as needed.
