Job summary

Hathorne Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Massachusetts seeks an Assistant Activity Director to lead daily and weekly resident activities, design engaging programs, and coordinate with care staff to enhance quality of life.

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, knowledge of aging and disability issues, and experience running cognitive activities in long-term care; CAD/CDP certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Must be qualified by experience and training to develop programs appropriate for elders and disabled individuals.
• Management and Leadership Experience
• Experience in multifaceted cognitive program in a long-term care setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implements events and programs to enhance the resident experience and quality of life.
• Evaluates programs to ensure quality meets resident needs.
• Develops a seven-day-a-week activity program engaging for all residents.
• Leads one-on-one, small group, and large group programming per schedule.
• Supports independent program pursuits for residents.
• Produces an online and printable quality monthly calendar/newsletter and daily activity calendar on time.
• Hire, train and directly oversee resident care staff in all aspects of the program.
