Job summary
Hathorne Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Assistant Activity Director to lead, coordinate, and implement engaging activities for residents in a long-term care setting. The role involves developing a seven-day activity program, supervising staff, and producing communications for families and residents.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree (CAD preferred) and experience in aging/disability issues; CAD and CDP certifications are desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
- Management and leadership experience.
- Experience in multifaceted cognitive programs in long-term care is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Implements events and programs to enhance residents' experience and quality of life.
- Evaluates programs to meet residents' needs.
- Develops a seven-day-a-week activity program engaging all residents.
- Monthly family-centered programming to promote participation.
- Leads and implements one-on-one, small group and large group activities.
- Supports independent program pursuits for residents.
- Produces a monthly newsletter and daily activity calendar.
- Hire, train and oversee program staff.
