Job summary

Dahl Consulting is seeking an Account Manager Lead to join our Spokane employee benefits team. You will own a portfolio of small group clients (under 100 lives), mentor Account Managers, and partner with Producers to deliver strategic renewals and plan changes on-site in Spokane.

This consultative, relationship-driven role requires 7+ years in employee benefits, a valid license, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of related employee benefits/account management experience.
• Active insurance license and Continuing Education requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work hybrid Spokane schedule: minimum 2 days/week in Spokane office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary relationship owner for an assigned book of small group employee benefits clients (under 100 lives).
• Lead and mentor a team of Account Managers, including training development, task delegation, and resolution of escalated service issues.
• Manage the full renewal cycle—review renewals, prepare renewal letters, and market groups or present recommendations based on rate changes.
• Meet with clients for pre-renewal strategy sessions, proposal delivery, and coverage explanations.
• Negotiate with carriers/markets for premium concessions and select markets for solicitation.
• Review coverage contracts and client illustrations for accuracy.
• Oversee new carrier and plan implementations across the assigned book of business.
• Manage new business processing, follow-up, and reporting accuracy across the team.
• Act as liaison between the local office and corporate departments to support day-to-day operations.
• Ensure fee collection and account reconciliation within 60 days of invoicing.
• Maintain complete, accurate data within the agency management system in compliance with regulations.
