Job summary

LaPorte is seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager, Small Groups, to manage and retain small group employee benefits accounts. You will lead client relationships, oversee renewals and marketing, and advise on plan design, compliance, and industry trends.

You will collaborate with Producers and Account Executives, mentor team members, and ensure accurate documentation and timely communication with clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ employee benefits experience.
• Must hold and maintain a Life and Health license and comply with continuing education requirements.
• Understanding of COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and related compliance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned small group benefit accounts and drive client retention.
• Lead renewal processes with RFPs, carrier negotiations, and renewal proposals.
• Advise clients on benefit design, funding strategies, and compliance.
• Mentor Associates and collaborate with Producers, Account Executives, and internal partners.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations and open enrollment meetings.
