Job summary

TekPro Engineering in Fremont, CA seeks a Senior CAM Programmer (Mastercam) to develop, prove out, and optimize 5-axis milling programs for tight tolerances in aerospace and medical device components. Qualifications

• 7+ years of CNC machining and programming experience, with strong 5-axis milling expertise.
• High proficiency in Mastercam or comparable CAM platforms.
• Deep understanding of GD&T, tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, and machining fundamentals.
• Hands-on approach to prove-outs, troubleshooting, and working directly with shop-floor personnel.
• Experience in aerospace or medical device industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prove out, and refine CNC programs for complex 5-axis milling work.
• Translate CAD models, drawings, and GD&T into efficient machining strategies.
• Select tooling, design/define workholding, and set cutting parameters and sequences.
• Use CAM software to create, simulate, and verify multi-axis toolpaths.
• Support machinists and setup teams during prove-outs, first articles, and troubleshooting.
• Continuously optimize cycle time, tool life, setup efficiency, and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain precise setup docs, tooling databases, and program revision control.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve challenges and improve processes.
