Senior 5-Axis Milling CAM Programmer (Mastercam)Location: Fremont, CACompensation: $50–$65/hr, depending on experienceEmployment: Direct Hire | Aerospace & Medical Device ManufacturingA day in the lifeIt’s the start of your shift in Fremont. You load a complex CAD model, study the GD&T, and map out a machining strategy that will hold to the tightest tolerances. In Mastercam, you craft and simulate multi-axis toolpaths, check for collisions, and refine cutters and parameters. On the floor, you partner with a skilled setup technician to prove out the first article on a 5-axis VMC, adjust feeds and speeds for tool life, document the setup, and hand off a stable, efficient program to production. Before the day is done, you huddle with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production to streamline a sequence, shave seconds off a cycle, and plan the next complex run.About the roleTekPro has teamed up with a global precision manufacturer that serves aerospace, medical device, and other high-reliability markets. If you thrive on turning intricate designs into reality through advanced 5-axis machining, this is where your programming makes a measurable impact. What you’ll doDevelop, prove out, and refine CNC programs for complex 5-axis milling work.Translate CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T into efficient machining strategies.Select tooling, design/define workholding, and set cutting parameters and sequences for quality and throughput.Use CAM software to create, simulate, and verify sophisticated multi-axis toolpaths.Support machinists and setup teams during prove-outs, first articles, and troubleshooting.Continuously optimize cycle time, tool life, setup efficiency, and dimensional accuracy.Maintain precise setup docs, tooling databases, and program revision control.Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve challenges and improve processes. What you bring7+ years of CNC machining and programming experience, with strong 5-axis milling expertise.High proficiency in Mastercam or comparable CAM platforms.Track record of independently programming complex, tight-tolerance precision parts.Deep understanding of G-code, GD&T, tooling, workholding, cutting strategies, and machining fundamentals.Hands-on approach to prove-outs, troubleshooting, and working directly with shop-floor personnel. Background with aerospace, medical device, or similarly demanding precision components preferred.Tools & technologyCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)CAM Software (Mastercam)Compensation & benefits$50–$65/hr starting pay, based on experience.Consistent overtime opportunities.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.401(k) with employer matching.Paid time off, paid holidays, and additional company benefits.Work with advanced manufacturing technology on complex aerospace and medical components.Long-term growth within an established global manufacturing organization.Core proficienciesGD&TCNC ToolingCNC Programming
