Job summary

University of Illinois Extension is seeking an Extension Program Coordinator (4-H) to promote and implement 4-H Youth Development programs in schools and communities. You will lead coordination efforts, support volunteers, and collaborate with educators to deliver engaging youth programming.

The role requires planning, outreach, and data management with occasional evening or weekend work across Illinois communities.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED and related coordinating experience.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement youth-focused educational programs.
• Working knowledge of youth development topics (career readiness, leadership, health, STEM).
• Effective communication and engagement with youth audiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate educational activity planning for the program with the 4-H Educator or Specialist.
• Identify priority needs and address through Extension 4-H youth programs.
• Evaluate program activities and recommend improvements.
• Provide leadership to volunteers, 4-H members and families.
• Maintain records and reports (4-HOnline, 4-H Fair Entry).
• Recruit and train adult 4-H volunteers.
