Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation seeks a Principal Perception Engineer to lead the design and productization of the next-generation autonomous driving perception stack. This senior IC role balances architecture, hands-on implementation, and cross-functional leadership across perception and autonomy teams.

You will drive 3D obstacle perception, multi-sensor fusion, and transformer-based methods, while mentoring engineers and ensuring production-grade performance, safety compliance, and scalable deployment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on experience in deep learning–based perception or related systems.
• Demonstrated technical leadership as a senior or principal-level contributor.
• Experience with data-driven development and collaboration with labeling/ground-truth teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, architecture, and roadmap for 3D obstacle perception in autonomous driving.
• Develop 3D perception models with multi-camera/sensor fusion and transformer-based architectures.
• Lead production-grade DL models with scalable training and evaluation practices.
• Define KPI frameworks and analyze large datasets to improve accuracy and robustness.
• Lead data strategy for perception, including labeling, annotation, and model-in-the-loop tooling.
• Partner with safety, systems, and software teams to meet product requirements.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-team design decisions.
