Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor for our corrugated facility in Martinsville, VA. The role supports the 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) in a union environment, driving improvements across people, processes, and systems with a PBM philosophy.

Responsibilities include leading an operating team, promoting safety, coaching personnel, minimizing waste, and ensuring on-time production through daily direction and feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Experience supervising in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supervising corrugator/converting or packaging operations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
• Experience using KIWI system.
• Experience in a union environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead an operating team in compliance in safety, health, environmental, and quality; Foster a culture based on our PBM® Philosophy.
• Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability; investigate incidents and resolve causes.
• Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
• Ensure best practices are followed for minimization of waste at machine centers.
• Address key issues and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production.
• Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback; communicate issues daily.
