Job summary

Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) – Substance Use Group

We are hiring for a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) to serve in our Substance Use Group. The position is credentialed and requires a licensed professional clinician with direct experience and skill in treating a range of behavioral health issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate closely with the interdisciplinary team (behavioral health specialists, registered nurses, quality assurance specialists, paraprofessionals, and the Clinical Director) to best help service users.
• Run individual, family, and group outpatient therapy sessions.
• Develop person‑centered plans with individuals and oversee the discharge planning process.
• Facilitate relationships between RHA, service user families/legal guardians and various social service community resources (food stamp, housing assistance, healthcare, job training and placement, and substance abuse support groups).
• Work as an excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills, running open and productive therapy sessions.
• Excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and anticipate these needs.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in North Carolina (LCAS, LCAS‑A, or CADC).
• Clinical supervision provided.
• Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Pre‑employment screening: criminal background check, name checked in OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities; drug testing; education verification; other credentialing based on position requirements.
