Job summary

Cayman Chemical seeks a Scientist I in Ann Arbor, MI to provide LC-MS-based analytical services of lipids and other small molecules. You will operate and maintain HPLC-MS/MS instrumentation, perform quantitative analyses, prepare solvents and samples, and interpret data to develop new methods.

Accurate record-keeping and literature review are essential. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in chemistry or related field with hands-on HPLC and MS experience, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in chemistry or related field.
• Experience: 8 years (with Bachelor’s), 5 years (with Master’s), 0 years (with PhD).
• Extensive hands-on experience running HPLC and mass spectrometry equipment, developing HPLC methods, and interpreting LC-MS/MS data.
• Specific experience in drug pharmacokinetic analysis or lipid analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HPLC-MS/MS instrumentation.
• Perform quantitative HPLC and HPLC-MS analysis of target analytes in a variety of matrices.
• Prepare solvents, mobile phases, and analytical samples of diverse origins.
• Interpret analytical data - suggest and assist in developing new analytical methods.
• Keep complete and accurate record of all observations, measurements, techniques, procedures, and conclusions in a laboratory notebook.
• Search, interpret, and utilize scientific literature.
• Help prepare scientific papers and technical reports for publication and/or presentation.
• Offer technical support to teammates, other staff, and customers as needed.
