Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Drill Tech to support drilling operations at multiple site locations. You will assist the Driller, handle pipes and equipment, and help maintain records and samples. This is a physically demanding, outdoor role requiring reliability and teamwork in all weather conditions.

You will operate and maintain site machinery, comply with safety policies, and contribute to project success by supporting routine mechanical tasks and logistics across drill sites.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Experience on construction sites or outdoor environments preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work in small teams.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus and a safety-conscious mindset is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Driller in conducting drilling operations and routine tasks at drill sites.
  • Lift and move drill pipe and materials up to 50 lbs; assist with up to 100 lbs as needed.
  • Operate and maintain site equipment (trucks, backhoes, forklifts, generators, engines, pumps) for reliability.
  • Complete daily time and material records and proper documentation.
  • Collect drill cuttings or water samples and label accurately for analysis.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
