Job summary

Segra is seeking a Network Engineer (Layer 2 Provisioning) to join our hybrid team in the United States. This role focuses on Layer 2 provisioning for E-Line and ELAN services, with in-depth support for SEGRA Networks and Ethernet infrastructures.

The ideal candidate has at least four years in networking or Layer 2 provisioning, strong Cisco equipment knowledge, and proven testing, provisioning, and troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with E-Line and ELAN provisioning, testing, and/or troubleshooting via CLI.
• Minimum of 4 years of networking engineering experience, or a minimum of 4 years of experience in layer 2 provisioning related to E-Line and ELAN.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment.
• Preferred: provisioning experience with Ciena SAOS 6, 8, 10.
• Must be able to demonstrate provisioning experience for Ring and Linear Services.
• College degree in Engineering or a related field and 3-5 years professional level experience; or 6+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience.
• 6+ years troubleshooting higher level Network Hardware and provisioning.
• 6+ years in network operations environment or related job.
• Extensive understanding of either the Data or Transport disciplines in the Skill Matrix.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
